Just Dance 2015 is the sixth game in the main series of Just Dance. It was released for all home generation consoles on October 2014. A Chinese version of the game that featured exclusive tracks was released in China for the Xbox One on May 21, 2015 and on the PlayStation 4 on August 25, 2015.
When the game first launched, online functionality was available. However on November 19, 2018, said functionality was disabled, making some features no longer available to do or complete.
Overview
In the Just Dance series, players compete against each other for recreational victory by following on-screen coaches doing dance routines. Each routine tracks the player's attempt in following it throughout, and grants points based on how well they did. The player who ends up with the highest score is deemed the winner.
In Just Dance 2015, the World Dance Floor, a mode that allows players to compete against one another online, returned, along with the Party Master mode (Wii U rendition only), autodances that can be edited and shared (sans Wii rendition), and the customizable playlists. A new mode called "Challenge" makes a debut in the series. It allows players to compete with other players' scores, and even their own score from a previous play, for dominance. Players could also be featured in Just Dance 2015 by participating in Community Remixes, a mashup consisting of people dancing to a choreography from the game, when the team sends out the chance to star in them in the game. A "JD Wall" is also added; the wall features various statistics about the game, including unlocked content, Challenges, and World Dance Floor information.
Currency called Mojo Coins is used in Just Dance 2015. Mojo Coins can be used to purchase avatars, which can be applied on a Dancer Card: a profile of information regarding the player's Just Dance 2015 experience. (This is also the area where players can view autodances via the Video Gallery section.) Additionally, Mojo Coins can be used to purchase mashups: routines using combinations of dances mixed together. Each star earns the player one Mojo Coin.
Chinese Version
The Chinese variant is similar to its main variant, however certain features, specifically online ones such as the World Dance Floor and Challenge mode, are not included.
Tracking
The game uses a motion controller to track player's movements in the PlayStation 3, Wii, and Wii U renditions using a PlayStation Move Controller for the former and a Wii Remote for the latter two. The Xbox 360 and Xbox One renditions uses the Kinect to track while the PlayStation 4 uses either a PlayStation Camera or a PlayStation Move controller to track. Alternatively, the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One renditions allow use of a smartphone as a controller through the Just Dance 2015 Controller App.
The Wii U rendition also utilizes the Wii U Gamepad. It can be used as an alternate way to scroll through the game and as a place to display lyrics. It is necessary for Party Masters and autodances.
Ubisoft Shutdown
On November 19, 2018, Ubisoft shut off online functionality for Just Dance 2015. As such, the following features are no longer able to be done in the game.
- The World Dance Floor
- Since some avatars were unlocked through there, that makes those avatars unavailable to obtain for the player if they had not been unlocked prior to the shutdown.
- Challenge Mode
- Community Remixes (including the team sending out chances to star in them)
- Using the Just Dance 2015 Controller App as a way to play the game
- Viewing/Sharing autodances from/to the world

Ain't No Mountain High Enough is also considered a Sing Along in the game, which means that the dancers are lip singing to the song while they're dancing. The lyrics are also moved from the bottom left of the screen to the top half of the screen.

In order to unlock these mashups, the user has to be playing the game with an internet connection on the months listed below. Unlike the other mashups, these is no pricepoint; they are given at no cost.
Since online functionality has been shut off for this game, these mashups are no longer available for players to unlock. However, if they had already unlocked them before functionality was shut off, then they are still available for play. This does not apply for the Chinese variant, where they are still available to unlock; instead of them being unlocked by a monthly criteria, they can be unlocked with 20 Mojo Coins at free will.

Community Remixes
Community Remixes are redone dances done by groups of people from the Just Dance community. They require an internet connection to play. Despite being a feature in the game, most are not available in the Xbox 360 rendition.
Since online functionality was shut down for the game, Community Remixes, with the exception of Happy's, are no longer available to play.
VIPs
VIPs are special people that participate in the game via video footage. Some of the people participate in the World Dance Floor, allowing players to compete against them alongside other people from around the world.

Downloadable Content
The game offers downloadable content for players to purchase. They can be purchased at a respective console's distribution service if applicable. They were also able to be purchased through the in-game shop, however the shutdown caused that to be inaccessible. Furthermore, Wii owners can no longer purchase songs due to the shop closing (which was the only way to access them) and the currency system (Wii Points) being out-of-use. However, if they are still stored in the game, then they can still be played.

UPlay
UPlay (now known as Ubisoft Connect) is a program where players can earn rewards for games by completing tasks and earning points for them. Just Dance 2015 offers rewards that can be unlocked through UPlay, though it has since been disabled from the shutdown. While they are no longer available to retrieve, if these rewards were purchased prior to the Ubisoft Shutdown, then they are still accessible to the player. For information on the tasks that were available, view Just Dance 2015/Ubisoft Club.
The Wii rendition and the Chinese variant never had UPlay. However, some of the rewards could still be obtained through other means. Unlike the UPlay method, these are still open for the player to obtained if they had not obtained.
